When there is a change in the regular schedule due to a public holiday, a notice will be posted on our website and social media. During the summer, the number of trucks is increased. Pickup times may therefore vary.
IMPORTANT: put it out after 8 p.m. on the day prior to collection or before 7 a.m. on the day itself
You should place your domestic waste on the curbside in accordance with the following instructions:
Use metal or plastic containers:
- with handles and a cover
- with a maximum capacity of 100 litres (20 gallons)
- with a maximum weight of 25 kg for manual lifting and 100 kg for mechanical liftin
Use of wheeled bins.
The City does not provide garbage collection receptacles. If you purchase a wheeled bin, please make sure that:
- it has a maximum capacity of 240 or 360 litres
- it is a colour other than blue (preferably black or charcoal gray)
- it is equipped with a European grip with three grooves beneath the cover (see image)
We invite you to take advantage of the various green solutions offered to you for disposing of waste materials in a safe, eco-friendly manner. You will find information about them in the sections below.
This initiative is aligned with the City’s Environmental Policy
and meets the objectives set by the Quebec Residual Materials Management Policy
The following materials are not accepted
because they are either collected separately or must be taken to an écocentre:
